What BillYourShop is

A GST billing system for a single Indian retail shop: bills and quotations with the right CGST, SGST or IGST worked out from the place of supply; stock that moves with every bill and return; purchases, expenses and the payments that settle them; e-way bills; and the summaries an accountant asks for at the end of the month. The Android app, BillMyShop, is the same books from a phone — billing at the counter, collecting what is owed, and sending a customer their bill on WhatsApp. This page is written for the shop owner who signs in; your customers never use the app and never have an account.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address and a password, so you can sign in. The password is stored only as a one-way hash.

Your shop's books. Everything you enter to run your shop: your business name, address and GSTIN; your items and stock; your customers' and suppliers' names, phone numbers, addresses and GSTINs; and the bills, quotations, orders, purchases, returns, payments and expenses you record. This is the whole purpose of the service — it is your data, held for you.

Sign-in records. When you sign in, we keep the device's type (its user agent) and IP address against that session, so you can see which devices are signed in and sign one out.

Error reports. If something goes wrong on our server, the error, the request that caused it and the same technical details above may be recorded so we can fix it. Error reports do not include your password.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or anything else on your phone. The app asks for one permission: internet access.

What we do not do

Where your data lives

Your books are stored on our server and sent to and from the app and the website over HTTPS. On your phone the app keeps only your sign-in token, in Android's encrypted keystore, so you do not have to sign in every time. Signing out deletes it.

Sharing you choose

When you share a bill, the app hands the bill's link or PDF to the app you pick — WhatsApp, email, or another. From that point the data is with that app and that recipient, under their terms. Bill links are signed and expire, and show only that one bill.

Who else sees it

Our hosting provider stores the server, and our error-reporting service receives the error reports above. Both act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes. We disclose data to a court or authority only when the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your books for as long as your account exists. GST law requires businesses to retain invoice records, so export what you need before asking for deletion. To delete your account and everything in it, use Settings → Delete your account (More → Help → Delete my account in the app), or email us from your account's email address; we will confirm and delete it within 30 days. You can also delete individual items, parties, drafts and quotations from inside the app at any time.

Your rights

You can see, correct and export your data from the app and the website at any time. If you want a copy of everything we hold, or have any question about this policy, write to us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes are announced on billyourshop.in before they take effect.
