Billing software for an electrical shop
An electrical counter bills two kinds of customer: the contractor who needs a proper GST tax invoice to claim his input credit, and the walk-in who wants one switch and a bill. BillYourShop does both from the same screen, on the shop's computer and on an Android phone.
A tax invoice your contractors can claim credit on
Your GSTIN and the contractor's on the bill, an HSN code on every line, and the place of supply printed beside the number. CGST + SGST when the goods stay in your state, IGST when they go to a site in another one — pick the state under Delivering to and the tax follows. Bill numbers run in an unbroken series, and when you pick a contractor, each item starts from the rate he was last charged.
Wire by the metre, or by the coil
Keep a wire in metres and give it a pack — a coil of 90 metres, say. A line can then be billed in metres or in coils, priced per coil when it goes whole, and the stock is kept in metres either way. Switches and MCBs work the same way in pieces and boxes.
Know what to reorder before the wholesaler trip
Every bill takes the goods out of stock and every purchase brings them in. The low-stock list works from the level you set for each item; days of cover tells you how long the shelf lasts at the current rate of sale. Best sellers and stock sitting unsold are a click away, and so is the list of items customers asked for that you did not have.
Quotation, challan, bill — for site work
A quotation for the contractor, which leaves off your letterhead unless you ask for it, so he can pass it on under his own name. A delivery challan when the goods go to site before the bill is made. Then the bill, carried forward from either without typing a line twice. Over ₹50,000 the bill is flagged for an e-way bill: generate the number on the government portal, record it here, and print a sheet for the driver.
Contractors who pay at the end of the month
Take part cash and part UPI on one bill; whatever is left stays as udhar against the contractor. The ageing report shows who has owed for 30, 60 or 90 days, a statement shows his whole account, and one tap writes a WhatsApp reminder whose link carries a UPI button for exactly what that bill still owes.
