Billing software for a hardware shop

A hardware shop sells thousands of small items, gives builders a month's credit, and takes back what a site did not use. BillYourShop makes the GST bill, keeps the stock and the udhar, and handles the returns — on the counter computer and on an Android phone.

Bring your items across from Excel, Vyapar or Tally

Nobody types two thousand items in by hand. Upload a spreadsheet (.xlsx or .csv) of items or of customers and suppliers; the columns are read in the words Vyapar, Tally and Excel use, and Check first shows what would go in before anything is saved.

Find an item by barcode, code or name

A barcode is the item's code, so a USB scanner at the counter, or the phone's camera, finds it. The price lookup at the top of the billing screens answers with what the customer pays, GST included, and how many are on the shelf. Sell screws by the piece or by the box of 100 from the same item; the stock is kept in pieces.

Builders on credit

Part cash and part UPI on one bill, the rest as udhar against the builder. Each item starts from the rate that builder was last charged. The ageing report shows who has owed for 30, 60 or 90 days, a statement shows the whole account, and one tap writes a WhatsApp reminder whose link carries a UPI button for exactly what is owed.

Goods that come back

A credit note is raised against the bill it credits, in its own numbered series. It puts the goods back in stock and never credits more than was sold. Goods you send back to a supplier go out on a debit note against his bill. A wrong bill can be cancelled for 48 hours; after that the number is settled and a credit note is the way back.

Less paper at the counter

Print on A5, or on A4 with two short bills to a sheet and a cut line between them. Or print nothing: the WhatsApp button opens the customer's chat with a link to their bill, where they can download the PDF.

What your CA gets

The GSTR-1 file the GST offline tool imports, the HSN summary and the GSTR-3B figures, read off the bills already written. On the website, a file TallyPrime imports and a year-end pack — and a login for the accountant that reads the books and changes nothing.

What it costs

₹1,299 for 3 years, on the phone and the computer alike — the founding offer for the first 50 shops. Setup is included: your items (brought across from Vyapar, Tally or a spreadsheet), GSTIN, logo and printer, in person where we can reach you and on a video call where we can't.
